Lest We Forget...

Seems like "ole Retro Blog" has had its share of neglect over April, but with good reason!
Two wild Retro Society nights have come and gone since the last run-down, and it's pretty easy to forget about the blog in between all the other Retro Society fodder.

Thanks to AFTERS & CHEAPFRILLZ for their mesmerising set on the 28th. I expected a generic distorted sound, but received a collective of nu-disco/balti/trash/electro which kept the 'tough' OAF spectators on their feet all night.

Aaaaaaaand a big kudos to BENI for braving the sweat-orgy that is that Oxford Art Factory stage the saturday passed. We witnessed enough sweat on the live stage to permanently end Australia's drought! And there's Beni, in the forty-degree swelter, with his trademark leather jacket and scarf, tearing the walls apart with "my love see's you". Fuck it, I'm giving him double kudos for keeping composure when we were all praying for a cool breeze.

Thanks also to the xhardxcorex bands before us for being soooo xhardxcorex and completely screwing the beginning of the night cause ya'll can't get your shit together. Credit where credit's due though - you guys really know how to fuck up a stage good and proper!

This coming saturday we've got VAN SHE TECH @ Oxford Art Factory, then we have the Awkward Fingering mixtape launch a fortnight later with POMOMOFO live!

Sat night wrap up by the awkward boys

After the success of sat night retro society at oxford art factory we as staff would like to thank the bag raiders for there amazing set which topped off an amazing night with some great sets from our fellow resident djs three fingers and mindgutter, also we would like to thank anna lunoe for every set she has done with us so far. the night all went well except for a few minor hick ups but it all was a huge success. some great photos were also taken by our resident photographer kyle for all pics check www.upallnight.com

ALL THE SINGLE LADIES!

We received some negative feedback from a few groupies on friday night after we dropped Beyonce's Single Ladies. It must be noted that this was in fact a joke. We're not turning retro society into a seedy commercial venture, though you can be sure to hear a few more top 40/90's Hitz in the future after a treasure chest of Video Hits albums have been accounted for.

Black Cat @ Burdekin Friday The 13th Party!

Black Cats Friday the 13th event once again started and ended in grand messy fashion! This weekend we saw everybodys favorite party djs The Starfucker Djs Hookie and Mr Disorder rock the Retro Decks which once again saw the place to be on Friday nights grow larger and even more messier!.. Other things which did occur on this night where Three Fingers busted a sweet set Art Killers made there long awaited return back to Retro Society and also chalton lost the entry stamp.. once again Chalton has lost something!.. Dom Westbrook was once again drunk off champange and Glen started the newest thing to hit youtube and retrosociety.. RETRO TV!! did you get caught on camera? lets hope not!! lol.. actually we hope soo we really do :) once again thanks for every who came out to the starfuckers black cat party and next week we go even bigger as the big bad booty daddy kato makes he's return back to the retro society church and also on Saturday we take over Oxford Art Factory FOR GOOD! thats right.. with the big men on campus Bag Raiders and our good friend Anna Lunoe and the usual sick sounding residents Mindgutter Three Fingers Awkward Boyz and There Goes The Neighbourhood..
